I live in Southwest Michigan near “The Big Blue Water” (Lake Michigan) on 11 acres.  This is ideal for chicken raising.  Did you know chickens will keep the ticks in your yard to a minimum?  At least if you allow the chickens to “free-roam”.

Another place to look for great chicken coop parts and pieces is antique malls, flea markets, and farm sales.  I occasionally pick up feeders, waterers, and great old barn lumber/salvaged lumber to make small chicken coops.
